CSL Plasma is seeking a health-care professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, and to provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff under licensure. The role includes interviewing donors, reviewing medical histories, interpreting test results, and escalating critical cases to physicians.

You will work under the Center Medical Director and uphold SOPs in a fast-paced donor center.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart and lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.
• Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and escalation of critical medical situations to physicians

Responsabilités

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff under licensure or certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Respond to medically related questions in conjunction with the Center Medical Director and provide information to staff.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical providers as required

Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program

Foreign medical school graduate licensing or EMT certification

State licensure/certification requirement for NY (RN/MD/DO) or reciprocal state
