Zusammenfassung

CSL is seeking staff to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and to provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff in a compliant clinical setting.

Responsibilities include interviewing donors, performing medical history reviews, reviewing test results, and escalating urgent medical situations to a Center Physician or local medical providers as required. Experience in plasma/whole blood centers is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments per licensure or certification.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
• Respond to medically related questions and provide information to staff on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine donor suitability; assess donor symptoms that may result in the inability to continue donating.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors to community facilities for follow-up and counseling.
• Provide routine care following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); escalates critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers as required.
