Job summary

Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries Inc is seeking a Material Handler in Jacksonville, IL to support warehouse operations handling donated goods, inventory control and daily logistics. The role involves loading/unloading, operating a baler and maintaining safe, organized work areas.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with safety-sensitive responsibilities and a strong emphasis on customer service, teamwork and process improvements within the Retail Operations/Warehouse department.

Qualifications

• Requires basic math skills.
• Requires ability to analyze a situation, recognize potential issues before they arise and recommend appropriate solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of donated goods between the processing, storage, dock areas and salvage.
• Assist team in providing required materials for production.
• Process and control inventory following established procedures.
• Load and unload tractor trailers with donated goods.
• Operate a baler, and lift tables in accordance with OSHA and LLGI standards.
• Perform janitorial duties.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area including assisting with trash and salvage removal.
• Participates in required training.
• Effectively manage time to ensure that work is completed.
• Contributes to team success by involving others in work processes, decisions and actions.
• Monitors and recognizes security risks and thefts and assists in their prevention.
• Ensure that the customer’s perspective is a driving force behind customer satisfaction.
• Seek to understand the customer’s circumstances, problems, expectations and needs.
• Identify customer service issues and create solutions.
• Build customer awareness around our mission.
• Identify and correct conditions that affect employee and customer safety.
• Comply with safety standards.
