Job summary

Vapor Thrift Store in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Receiving Associate to help drive store profitability by greeting donors, sorting donations, and selecting sellable items for sale. Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills with an upbeat, positive demeanor.
• Able to repeatedly lift 50+ pounds unassisted.
• Able to work outside in all year-round temperatures.
• Able to kindly, but firmly enforce VTS policies on non-accepted items.
• Quickly and efficiently evaluate “keep or trash” for all donated items.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and assist customers with questions.
• Sort donations and select sellable items for Vapor Thrift Store to sell.
• Unload donor vehicles quickly and efficiently; inspect items for quality.
• Maintain clean and organized donation area; manage trash/recycling.
• Open/close procedures if scheduled; ensure workspace is organized.
