Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking team members to perform essential inventory management, sorting and processing of donated merchandise for display and sale. You will work in a fast-paced retail environment, helping to prepare items for the floor and maintain orderly stock while delivering excellent donor and customer service.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions.
• Effective verbal communication with associates and customers.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

• Transfer merchandise from containers to determine if it is appropriate for the sales floor.
• Sort apparel by boutique, salable, and salvage categories.
• Prepare items for the sales floor and evaluate quality, pricing, value and salability.
• Count items processed and record on the official log.
• Place items on hangers and move them to the sales floor in organized groups.
• Maintain safety, report hazards or injuries to the manager on duty.
• Assist in collection and stocking of donated merchandise.
• Provide excellent service to donors and retail customers.
