Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington seeks a retailer-inventory associate to partner with the store team in a fast-paced environment, preparing donated merchandise for display and sale. You will sort items, price where appropriate, and ensure items meet guidelines for the sales floor.

You will maintain logs, assist donors and customers, and uphold safety standards while meeting productivity goals and maintaining a neat appearance.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math accurately.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions.
• Effective verbal communication with colleagues and customers.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs for extended periods.
• Experience with merchandise handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transfer merchandise from containers to determine sale floor eligibility.
• Stay aware of brand names, designer labels, and styles.
• Prepare items for the sales floor and evaluate quality and salability.
• Count items processed and record on the official log.
• Sort apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories by quota.
• Hang items, move them to the sales floor with grouped similar items.
• Count clothing pieces and record on Daily Hanger Report.
• Place non-sellable merchandise in appropriate containers.
• Follow safety and security practices and report hazards.
• Maintain productivity quotas and professional appearance.
• Assist in collections and stocking of donated merchandise; provide service.
