Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a Donation Processing Associate in Manassas, VA to support the retail team in a fast-paced environment. You will sort, process, and prepare donated merchandise for display and sale, helping shoppers find great items.

Ideal candidates have basic math, good communication, and the stamina to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods. Prior retail or warehouse experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours - per 8 hour shift).
• Ability to lift max of 25 lbs pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Transfers merchandise from containers to determine appropriateness for the sales floor in accordance with established guidelines.
• Stays abreast of brand name, designer labels, current and vintage styles.
• Prepare items for the sales floor. Evaluate items to determine quality, pricing, value and salability.
• Counts number of items processed and records on official log.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories according to quota.
