Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington seeks a donation processor/warehouse associate in Woodbridge, VA to support the retail team in a fast-paced environment. You will sort, process, and prepare donated merchandise for display and sale, ensuring items meet quality standards and are accurately logged for tracking.

You’ll contribute to a welcoming shopper experience by maintaining a clean store floor, adhering to safety practices, and assisting donors and customers with a friendly, professional attitude

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Transfers merchandise from containers to determine appropriateness for the sales floor in accordance with established guidelines.
• Stays abreast of brand name, designer labels, current and vintage styles.
• Prepare items for the sales floor. Evaluate items to determine quality, pricing, value and salability.
• Counts number of items processed and records on official log.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories according to quota.
• Places items on hangers, places hangers on rolling rack, and transports them to the sales floor keeping similar items grouped.
• Counts pieces of clothing and records on Daily Hanger Report.
• Places non-sellable merchandise in the appropriate container.
• Follows good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the manager on duty.
• Maintains a pace at which one is able to meet required productivity goals (quotas) for pieces processed.
• Maintains a clean, neat uniform and appearance.
