Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is hiring for a Store Associate to partner with retail teams in a fast-paced environment, handling donated merchandise from intake to display. You will sort, process, and prepare items for the sales floor, ensuring correct categorization and presentation.

Responsibilities include following safety practices, maintaining logs, and providing excellent service to donors and customers.

Qualifications

Basic math skills required.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions.
Effective verbal communication with associates and customers.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs for extended periods.
Six months of previous work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Transfer merchandise from containers to determine suitability for the sales floor.
Sort apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories.
Prepare items for the sales floor and evaluate quality, pricing, value and salability.
Count items processed and record on the daily log.
Place items on hangers and transport to the sales floor with grouped similar items.
Maintain safety practices and report hazards.
Meet productivity quotas for pieces processed.
Assist in collection and stocking of donated merchandise.
Provide excellent service to donors and retail customers.
