Job summary

Goodwill South Florida at the West Kendall-Hammocks Store in Miami, FL 33196 is seeking a part-time retail associate to handle customer service, cashiering, stocking, and donations processing. You will engage with donors, price and tag merchandise, and keep the store clean and organized.

The role requires high school completion, strong customer service, and cash handling abilities. Flexible scheduling including nights and weekends is expected; Spanish language ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent, or combination of education and experience.
• 6 months of related experience or training is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Prior cashiering experience is a plus. Knowledge of electronic devices.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations: greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer general information into a smart device (such as a phone or tablet), and thank donors for their donated items.
• Processing: sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items. Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
• Cashiering: Conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions by following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and credit card payments.
• Cleaning duties (including but not limited to) bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters. Report issues that require maintenance repairs.
• Customer service activities (including but not limited to) customer assistance, pricing merchandise, fitting room, offering recycling bags, explaining store operations, and other sales techniques that may enhance the store's sales and community image.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
