Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a capable Donation Express Supervisor to oversee brick-and-mortar and mobile donation sites. You will lead staff, ensure smooth donation flow, greet donors, issue receipts, and uphold safety procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months of supervisory experience, and strong customer service and communication skills. Weekend and holiday shifts are required; a valid driver's license and DOT certification are needed.

• Monitors and ensures a smooth donation process at a brick-and-mortar and/or Mobile Donation Express site.
• Fulfills duties of all Donation Express staff; greets donors and processes donations.
• Enforces Donation Express safety and security procedures.
• Assists in settling complaints and supports associate interviews and evaluations.
• Works weekends and holidays as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. 1. Supports the Donation Express Manager in operations for brick-and-mortar and/or Mobile Donation Express sites.
2. 2. Communicates professionally via e-mail, orally, and in writing.
3. 3. Monitors and ensures a smooth donation process at a brick-and-mortar and/or Mobile Donation Express site.
4. 4. Fulfills the duties of all Donation Express staff (if needed) to include providing excellent customer service to donors, greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles, completing donor receipts, and sorting and processing donated items into designated categories.
5. 5. Assists in and ensures the enforcement of Donation Express safety and security procedures.
6. 6. Assists in settling complaints.
7. 7. Provides input for associate interviews and performance evaluations.
8. 8. Works weekends and holidays as required to support the needs of the business.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

1. 1. Maintains a professional appearance adhering to Goodwill uniform standards
2. 2. Assists with maintaining proper staffing as it relates to budgets.
3. 3. Assists the Donation Express Manager to accurately record the work of the department.
4. 4. Assists with monitoring the time and attendance system.
5. 5. Assists during the interviews, trains, and instructs workers in such a manner as to develop full working potential.
6. 6. Assists with the development of efficient and effective methods and procedures for work simplification and material processing.
7. 7. Performs other duties as directed and required.

Supervisory Responsibility:This position has supervisory responsibility for the Donation Express staff including the Donation Attendants.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. 1. High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of supervisory experience and/or successful completion of the TRAc program.
2. 2. Excellent customer service skills.
3. 3. Basic computer skills.
4. 4. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
5. 5. Ability to perform basic math.
6. 6. Ability to read and comprehend internal documents related to store operations.
7. 7. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
8. 8. Ability to lift up to and between 40 – 50 pounds frequently.
9. 9. Valid driver’s license and continuous access to reliable vehicle. Must pass the DOT certification.
