Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking a capable Donation Express Manager to lead the EDC team and oversee operations for brick-and-mortar and mobile donation sites.

You will supervise staff, ensure safe, efficient processes, and deliver excellent donor service while coordinating with management on staffing and budgets. This role requires weekend/holiday work and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months supervisory experience and/or successful completion of the TRAc program.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read and comprehend internal documents.
• Manual dexterity to lift up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing/walking.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Donation Express Manager in operations for brick-and-mortar and/or mobile EDC sites.
• Communicates professionally via e-mail, orally, and in writing.
• Monitors and ensures a smooth production process for all donation functions.
• Performs duties of all EDC staff to provide excellent donor service, greet donors, unload donations, issue receipts, and sort items.
• Enforces EDC safety and security procedures.
• Assists in settling complaints and providing feedback for interviews and evaluations.
• Works weekends and holidays as required.
• Maintains staffing levels relative to budgets and records work of the department.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports the Donation Express Manager in operations for brick-and-mortar and/or mobile EDC sites.
• Communicates professionally via e-mail, orally, and in writing.
• Monitors and ensures a smooth production process for all donation functions.
• Fulfills the duties of all EDC staff (if needed) to include providing excellent customer service to donors, greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles, completing donor receipts, and sorting and processing donated items into designated categories.
• Assists in and ensures the enforcement of EDC safety and security procedures.
• Assists in settling complaints.
• Provides input for associate interviews and performance evaluations.
• Works weekends and holidays as required to support the needs of the business.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains a professional appearance adhering to Goodwill uniform standards

2. Assists with maintaining proper staffing as it relates to budgets.

3. Assists the Donation Express Manager to accurately record the work of the department.

4. Assists with monitoring the time and attendance system.

5. Assists during the interviews, trains, and instructs workers in such a manner as to develop full working potential.

6. Assists with the development of efficient and effective methods and procedures for work simplification and material processing.

7. Performs other duties as directed and required.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has supervisory responsibility for the EDC staff including the donation attendants.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:1. High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of supervisory experience and/or successful completion of the TRAc program.2. Excellent customer service skills.3. Ability to read and comprehend internal documents related to store operations.7. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).8. Ability to lift up to and between 40 – 50 pounds frequently.
