Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is seeking a Retail Donation Attendant for our South County Store - Baptist Church team. This hourly, part-time role focuses on friendly donor interactions and efficient donation processing.

The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, handle donations and receipts, maintain store cleanliness, and cooperate with teammates to deliver excellent customer service. No degree required; HS diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• No degree required; HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Effective communication with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with their donation drop off, and offering thanks and any donation incentive and tax receipt.
• Handle all donations with care and respect.
• Sort donated and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash according to guidelines.
• Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise/materials being donated.
• Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Stocks straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the store area.
• Uphold store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with team members and leadership; work cross-functionally.
• Maintain a hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions and keeping aisles clear.
• Maintain a professional appearance per dress code.
• Safeguard agency assets from harm, damage, or theft; report incidents of theft or unauthorized possession.
• Adhere to all policies and safety regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
