Job summary

The Salvation Army Bakersfield ARC is hiring a Donation Attendant to manage donation intake and assist with loading, sorting and reporting in a production setting in Bakersfield, CA. The role requires neat appearance, effective donor communication, and adherence to dress code policies.

Full-time position with a focus on maintaining the donation area, completing paperwork, and supporting the warehouse team. Flexibility for scheduling and physical duties is essential in this frontline role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy.
• Courteously assist the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt.
• Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor.
• Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor.
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary.
• Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.).
• Must secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
• Must be have flexible availability for scheduling purposes.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
