Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California in Bakersfield is seeking a Donation Attendant to support daily donation intake and trailer operations. You will maintain and clean the donation area, assist donors, and help load donations onto trucks under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and the ability to read and follow instructions. This role involves physical tasks and requires flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy.
• Courteously assist the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt.
• Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor.
• Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor.
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary.
• Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.).
• Must secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
• Must be have flexible availability for scheduling purposes.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
