Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington- in Manassas seeks a donation attendant to join our team and serve as a friendly ambassador. You will greet donors, assist with unloading and recording donations, and ensure a welcoming, efficient experience for guests.

This role requires physical activity, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, basic safety practices, and dependable teamwork in a dynamic outdoor setting. Benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction in English for safety purposes and communication with management.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours – per 8 hour shift)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• A minimum of six months of previous work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external guests.
• Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles.
• Accurately record donations.
• Ability to independently lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate manual and or power equipment (depending on location).
• Responsible for keeping donation area clean and free of debris.
• Completes donor receipts and offers the donor a copy.
• Sorts donated items into designated categories.
• Follows prescribed safety and security practices including reporting safety, security hazards and injuries to the General Manager, Store Manager, or Assistant Manager.
• Maintains a clean, neat uniform and appearance.
• Assists truck and driver helper load/unload donations into company vehicles.
• Performs general housekeeping duties as needed.
• Performs other duties as directed.
