Essential Functions of Director of Nursing (DON):

• Provide personal care to residents ensuring safety and comfort, in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
• Oversee nursing services 24/7.
• Maintain job descriptions for nursing staff.
• Support cultural practices that do not harm or interfere with medical therapy.
• Adjust staffing plans to ensure optimal resident care.
• Document and report incidents per policies and regulations.
• Represent nursing on various committees.
• Make rounds daily.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Collaborate with other departments for resident care.
• Ensure assessments are performed and documented properly.
• Assess and manage residents’ pain and educate families.
• Promote independence and a safe environment.
• Ensure equipment is functional and report malfunctions.
• Lead and role model as a team leader.
• Follow policies on abuse prevention.
• Notify physicians of changes in residents’ conditions and follow up.
• Implement resident care plans.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with administration on budgets.
• Manage infection control procedures.
• React decisively in emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current RN license in Georgia.
• Current BLS CPR certification.
• Preferred: 5 years nursing management experience.
• Maintain a valid email and phone number.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to react quickly in emergencies.
• Confidentiality and training knowledge required.
