Nursing and management experience are required. Must be an RN graduate from an accredited school of nursing. A BSN is preferred but not required. Must have current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible and accountable for the nursing care received by residents, including staffing assignments within state guidelines.
• Direct, evaluate, and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
• Assess resident care needs and assist in developing individualized care plans.
• Conduct resident care conferences.
• Report problems to the Administrator, conduct daily resident rounds, and initiate corrective actions.
• Conduct staff meetings with all shifts.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding nursing services.
• Allocate nursing service equipment and supplies appropriately.
• Supervise and schedule staff.
• Interview and hire nursing service employees.
• Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Establish good public relations with hospital discharge coordinators.
• Demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and dependability consistently.
• Work cooperatively with facility administration, nursing personnel, ancillary staff, and all departments.
