Director of Nursing (DON)
The Director of Nursing (DON) provides leadership to the Healthcare Department to ensure that Trillium Place by Tandem Living standards, policies, and procedures are maintained and that supportive and person-directed care is provided. The DON position is performed in accordance with TANDEM LIVING Core Values, Mission Statement, and regulations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develops written policies, procedures, and standards with special attention given to quality of life and care issues. Communicates policies, procedures, and standards clearly to all nursing staff and ensures follow-through with appropriate accountability methods.
- Performs management functions such as interviewing prospective employees, monitoring the Performance Appraisal process, resolving staff problems in consultation with the Director of HR, addressing morale issues, monitoring staffing requirements, addressing turnover issues, conducting monthly RN, LPN, and CNA meetings, ensuring appropriate RN supervision, maintaining high visibility, providing budget input with cost containment measures, and maintaining departmental documentation.
- Addresses significant family problems, issues, and concerns in consultation with the Nursing Home Administrator.
- Strategically plans, prioritizes, organizes, implements, and delegates responsibilities with precision, focusing on quality of care and quality of life issues.
- Establishes antibiotic stewardship standards to ensure antibiotics are prescribed appropriately, coordinating with the Antibiotic Stewardship Task Force, Infection Prevention, and physicians regarding policies and procedures for antibiotic use.

Qualifications:
- Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania (PA).
- Five (5) years of experience in a RN Charge/Supervisor role or previous DON experience.
- Preferred experience as a Director of Nursing in a Continuing Care Retirement Community setting.
- Basic computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook).
