Job summary

The South Shore Resource and Advocacy Center (SSRAC) in Plymouth, MA is seeking a Domestic Violence Hospital Coordinator to provide advocacy, case management, and hospital-based support to victims.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week), with a 9am-5pm schedule and occasional backup/on-call duties. A bachelor’s degree is preferred; trauma/outreach experience and knowledge of community resources are highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, written and oral skills.
  • Knowledge in trauma, criminal justice, or human services.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong knowledge of community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advocacy and case management.
  • Attend monthly supervision meetings.
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate hospital-based training and volunteer schedules.
  • Supervise volunteers and conduct intake assessments.
  • Provide individual and group counseling.
  • Participate in outreach and public awareness activities.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or life experience, preferred
Pay Range: $22-29/hr depending on experience
Status: Full Time / 40 hours a week
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9am to 5pm; Backup/on call and hotline required

The South Shore Resource and Advocacy Center (SSRAC) program provides free and confidential support, advocacy, prevention, and educational programs.

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Domestic Violence Hospital Coordinator Requirements
  • Experience working with victims and community outreach.

Domestic Violence Hospital Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide Advocacy and case management;
  • Attend monthly supervision meetings;
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner;
  • Attend appropriate and recommended training if desired;
  • Coordinate volunteer training specific to the hospital-based program;
  • Create schedule for hospital coverage;
  • Coordinate training with hospital staff;
  • Supervise volunteers for the hospital-based program;
  • Complete high risk and intake assessments;
  • Provide individual and group counseling;
  • Assist in the coordination of and participate in outreach and public awareness activities and events.
