Job summary

High Point & Affiliated Organizations in Brockton is seeking a dedicated Family Support Associate to join our mobile crisis service team. This full-time position pays $18–$23 per hour and supports individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, shift adherence, and compassionate care. Training in HIPAA, crisis de-escalation, and trauma-informed approaches is provided, with opportunities for growth and professional development within the agency.

Qualifications

  • TB Screening required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Crisis de-escalation training or program experience.
  • Confidentiality training (42 CFR, HIPAA) required.
  • Therapeutic Boundaries training required.
  • Ability to care for diverse populations.
  • All Hazards training required.
  • Infection Control training required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to 42 CFR Part 2; maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
  • Review posted shift assignments at each shift start.
  • Monitor patient safety and document status hourly in the EHR.
  • Maintain a therapeutic milieu; ensure a clean, safe environment hourly.
  • Understand and follow emergency procedures; stay calm in crises.
  • Maintain therapeutic boundaries and enforce rules respectfully.
  • Conduct routine room inspections and bag searches as directed.
  • Keep unit neat; perform end-of-shift tasks and restock supplies.
  • Attend supervision meetings with supervisor; participate in mandatory meetings.
  • Perform duties as assigned by supervisors and program leadership.
  • Coordinate with medical and insurance programs to support patients.

Education/Licensure: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or relevant work and/or life experience
Pay Range: $18 - $23 per hour

Family Support Associate Duties & Responsibilities
  • Compliance with Federal Regulations regarding 42 CFR Part 2; Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations
  • Reviews and adheres to posted shift assignment at the start of shift
  • Observation and accounting of allpatientsat all timesto ensure safety, entering findings of patient status into the EHR at a minimum of hourly
  • Monitor the milieu including bathrooms and group room for safe,cleanand therapeutic environmentathourlyand/or as needed
  • Understanding of emergency procedures and codesand remain calm in a crisis
  • Maintain therapeutic boundaries by setting limits and enforcing rules in a respectful manner
  • Perform roominspections per policyand bag searches when directed
  • Ensure the unit is neat and clean, performing end of shift duties tomaintaina therapeutic environmentfor patients and staff, and restocksupplies as needed.
  • Attends Supervision with assigned supervisor twice monthly and/or as needed based on status or concernsand attend mandatory meetings
  • Perform any otherduties asassigned by Recovery Specialist Supervisor, Nursing Staff, Nurse Manager, Program/Site Director, DON, COO.
