Job summary

Maui Humane Society is seeking a Dog Pathways Coordinator to streamline animal care pathways and accelerate outcomes for dogs and other animals in our shelter. This role requires coordinating care plans, collaborating with veterinary and behavior teams, and guiding animals toward adoption or other outcomes.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with weekend and holiday shifts. You will work with a compassionate team focused on improving length of stay, animal welfare, and overall shelter

Qualifications

Strong customer service communication skills, externally and internally.
Experience in animal welfare, especially animal care or foster programs.
Professional animal handling experience.

Responsibilities

Regularly review animals in care and ensure next steps are identified and followed, with medical/behavior milestones met.
Optimize length of stay by identifying barriers and facilitating movement.
Schedule medical care for animals and follow through on treatment plans or re-checks.
Support high-needs animals such as disease handling and behavior support.
