Maui Humane Society in Maui, Hawaii, is excited to welcome you as our next Adoptions Counselor. In this role you will coordinate the seamless transition of animals from the shelter to their forever homes, with a team and training to support success.

You’ll work on matchmaking, provide a positive community experience before, during and after adoption, and handle data and payments in our shelter software. We offer regular feedback, career growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Maui Humane Society is an open-air animal shelter for cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, turtles, and other animals. We provide veterinary and routine care and help surrendered animals find a new home. We also provide humane law enforcement services, education and outreach, programs to retain pets in their families, and low-cost spay and neuter surgeries. We're excited to welcome you as our next Adoptions Counselor. In this role you will coordinate the seamless transition of animals from the shelter to their forever homes.

What you'll be doing (with a team and training):

• Matchmaking shelter animals with homes
• Providing a positive community experience before, during and after the adoption process
• Processing data and payments in our shelter software
• As needed providing follow up support and resources to adopters

To be successful in this role you'll need to have (minimum qualifications):

• Strong customer service communication skills - externally and internally
• High comfort in interacting with animals
• Ability to use multiple computer programs efficiently

We'd love it if you already had (desired qualifications):

• Experience in animal welfare
• Experience with shelter software (PetPoint preferred)
