Job summary

Animal House Wilmington is seeking dog lovers with a passion for top-notch care and a desire to grow with a team of like-minded individuals. Starting pay is $13.00 per hour with raises based on performance.

Ideal candidates are kind, conscientious, and detail-oriented with a flexible schedule. You will supervise playgroups, learn canine behavior, maintain clean kennels, feed and water dogs, and support daily care with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Team player who works well with others to care for guests
• Clear communication with team, management and pet parents
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Keen observation to ensure guest safety and comfort
• Previous petcare experience preferred but not required
• Comfortable around dogs of all sizes and breeds
• Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Oversee playgroups and manage dog behavior during interactions
• Learn canine body language to maintain a safe environment
• Clean kennels, play areas, toys, dishes, and floors to high standards
• Feed pets per parents' instructions and ensure fresh water and bedding
• Administer medications as directed by a veterinarian when needed
• Solve problems proactively and take initiative in daily tasks
• Communicate with teammates to ensure consistent care
• Provide friendly guest service to pet parents
• Follow safety protocols to keep guests and staff safe
• Love and care for dogs as a core part of the role
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented center environment
