Job summary

Pet Paradise is seeking a Canine Behavior Specialist to assess behavioral concerns, design individualized training plans, and train staff across locations. You will help pet parents apply effective training strategies and monitor progress to sustain improvements.

The role requires advanced knowledge of dog training techniques, animal behavior, and strong communication. Occasional travel and dedication to humane, low-stress methods are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years industry related experience and/or training.
• Pet Trainer Certification required.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time across locations.
• Advanced knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior.
• Strong communication, dog handling and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs of pets and pet parents.
• Develop training plans targeting aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and biting.
• Teach dogs to obey basic commands using tailored techniques.
• Educate pet parents on training methods to maintain learned behaviors.
• Examine progress and provide regular updates to pet parents.
• Promote, demonstrate, and offer dog training programs to customers.
• Travel to multiple Pet Paradise locations to train staff.
• Schedule training appointments and verify bookings.
