Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, invites applications for an R&D Manager in the Firing & Embedded Systems group to lead the Advanced Fuzing Technology Department. You will direct ~20 staff, manage multiple Strategic Partnership Programs, and maintain cross‑functional partnerships with U.S.

Government sponsors to deliver high‑reliability fuzing solutions. The role requires DOE Q clearance, strong leadership, and proven experience in large, high‑risk engineering programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8 years directly related experience.
• Active DOE Q clearance to start.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Sigma 15 access.

Responsibilities

• Guide the work of a diverse team of ~20 staff and technologists; set priorities and mentor staff.
• Provide programmatic leadership for multiple Strategic Partnership Programs.
• Develop and expand trust-based relationships with U.S. Government sponsors and internal customers.
• Manage hazardous electrical and mechanical work in labs to validate new concepts.
• Collaborate with group and center leadership to align plans and strategies.
