Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico seeks an R&D Manager to lead the Advanced Fuzing Technology Department. You will guide a diverse team, drive strategic programs, and forge trust-based relationships with U.S. Government sponsors and internal customers.

This onsite role emphasizes safe operations, cross-functional leadership, and delivering high-assurance fuzing technologies. Travel may be required; a DOE Q clearance is expected. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years directly relevant experience.
• Active DOE Q clearance required to start.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SCI clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Sigma 15 access.
• Leadership experience across multiple organizations and teams.

Responsibilities

• Guide a diverse team of ~20 staff, set priorities, mentor and develop staff.
• Provide programmatic leadership for multiple Strategic Partnership Programs.
• Develop trust-based relationships with US Government sponsors and internal customers.
• Manage hazardous electrical and mechanical work in labs to prove out concepts.
• Collaborate to align strategies between SPP and Nuclear Deterrence missions.
• Some travel will be required.
• Work onsite due to security requirements.
