Job summary

Leidos in Langley AFB, Virginia, seeks a cleared WAN Engineer on 2nd shift to design, operate, and sustain long-haul transport and routing for DoD networks. You will work on enterprise WAN routing, ensure availability, performance, and STIG compliance for critical mission traffic.

Qualifications

• Clearance: US Citizen with active Top Secret and ability to obtain SCI.
• Education: BS +2+ years or MS +1+ years; higher experience acceptable.
• Certifications: DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II; CCNP Enterprise or JNCIP-SP preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years enterprise WAN engineering and DoD operations.
• BGP Expertise: Configure and troubleshoot eBGP/iBGP with policy enforcement.
• Routing & Transport: OSPF/EIGRP, MPLS L2/L3 VPNs, VRFs, IPv4/IPv6.
• Platforms: Cisco IOS-XE/IOS-XR/NX-OS and Juniper Junos in production.
• Encryption & Circuits: Type 1 encryptors and DISA circuit lifecycle actions.
• Compliance & Troubleshooting: STIGs, RMF, IAVA; packet-level analysis with Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Maintain BGP routing across the enterprise WAN with policy enforcement.
• Execute circuit installations, migrations, upgrades, and site cutovers with rollback plans.
• Develop and maintain routing policy standards and topology diagrams.
• Apply DISA STIGs, remediate IAVA findings, support RMF artifacts and POA&M.
• Coordinate with DISA/NOC/SOC, transport providers, and site staff for maintenance/outages.
• Monitor WAN health with SolarWinds, NetFlow; provide capacity guidance to leadership.
• Manage Type 1 encryptor configurations and key management for secure connectivity.
