Job summary

Agile Defense, Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer II to create, edit, and maintain mission-critical DoD documentation and contract deliverables at the Redstone Arsenal site in Alabama.

You will translate complex technical concepts into clear manuals, guides, and training materials, working with systems engineers, software developers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance. A 3–5 year background in technical writing for DoD contracts is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional technical writing experience, with at least 1 year supporting a DoD or federal IT contract.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communications, IT, or related field.
• Experience creating CDRLs and other contract deliverables (MSRs, White Papers, dashboards).
• Strong writing, editing, and documentation management skills with RMF/DoD standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Author, edit, and maintain IT system documentation and contract deliverables.
• Translate complex technical information into user manuals, guides, and training materials.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, developers, and cybersecurity teams for technical accuracy.
• Ensure documentation complies with DoD guidelines and RMF processes.
• Perform peer reviews and quality checks on documents and manage version control in DoD-approved systems.
