Job summary

Hive Group is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor to support CASCOM OCS at Fort Lee, VA. The role manages full lifecycle doctrinal publications, ensuring TRADOC 25-30/25-36 compliance and two‑day Change Resolution Matrix deadlines.

The candidate will hold an active SECRET clearance, 5+ years in military doctrine writing, a bachelor’s degree, and strong MS Office/Adobe Pro skills to draft, staff, and finalize core documents and handbooks.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET clearance required.
• 5+ years writing/editing military doctrine or technical publications.
• Experience with TR 25-30 and TR 25-36.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 6+ years using Microsoft Office, Office 365, and Adobe Pro.
• OCS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all publications follow TRADOC Regulation 25-30 procedures, timelines, and formatting guidelines.
• Review ~100 annual policy and doctrine documents for accurate OCS content.
• Resolve complex document feedback and compile findings into a Change Resolution Matrix (CRM).
• Submit completed CRMs to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) within two-day windows.
• Submit recommended comment matrices to the COR three days prior to deadlines.
• Research, draft, staff, and submit core Operational Contract Support (OCS) doctrinal documents.
• Produce foundational Program Directives, Initial Drafts, Final Drafts, and Final Signature Drafts.
• Review Army Techniques Publications (ATP) 4-10 and 4-10.1 on an 18-month cycle.
• Analyze handbook topics and draft OCS Handbooks to augment training manuals.
• Provide formal memorandums recommending document changes or major revisions.
• Provide monthly running operational estimates to the COR for CASCOM G-3.
• Gather annual historical achievements and workload projections for CASCOM Doctrine Branch.
