You will gain hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction equipment while learning Kirby-Smith shop operations and safety standards. The program provides paid training, uniforms, boot allowances, and growth opportunities with potential for full-time employment after separation from military service.

Qualifications

• Active-duty service member eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation with 180 days or fewer before separation.
• Background in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems preferred.
• Ability to read technical manuals and follow repair procedures.
• Willingness to learn manufacturer diagnostic tools and software.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; physical capability for shop tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervised, hands-on training in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment.
• Develop civilian-recognized technical skills while learning Kirby-Smith shop operations and safety standards.
• Document work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
• Communicate status and repairs professionally to team and customers.
• Participate in on-the-job training and shadow experienced technicians.
