Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior cloud architect to design and implement secure hybrid cloud solutions for DoD missions using Azure and AWS. You will drive architecture across infrastructure, identity, security, and networking while aligning with RMF and Zero Trust principles.

The role emphasizes hands‑on IaC, automation, and collaboration with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and development teams. A Top Secret clearance and Azure Solutions Architect certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field plus 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Minimum of five years architecting enterprise cloud solutions.
• Extensive experience with Azure infrastructure and platform services.
• Hybrid cloud design integrating on‑premises with Azure and AWS.
• Hands-on with Intune, Defender for Endpoint, Purview, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Experience with IaC: Terraform, Azure Bicep, ARM, CloudFormation.
• Automation of cloud administration via PowerShell, Python, Bash, Azure CLI, AWS CLI.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, engineer, and implement secure hybrid cloud solutions using Azure and AWS.
• Design and deploy greenfield cloud environments meeting DoD mission requirements.
• Develop secure, scalable cloud architectures aligned with DoD guidance and Zero Trust.
• Implement IaC solutions with Terraform, Azure Bicep, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
• Manage Intune, Defender, Purview, and AVD environments for enterprise endpoint security.
• Engineer secure networking bridging on‑prem with Azure/AWS.
• Implement cloud‑native monitoring, logging, backup, DR, and security services.
• Automate cloud deployments and ops with PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, AWS CLI.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, networking, and development teams.
• Support system accreditation and RMF compliance activities.
• Evaluate emerging cloud tech and recommend mission‑critical solutions.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to junior engineers.
