Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced cloud architect to design and implement secure hybrid cloud solutions for DoD missions in the United States. You will lead architecture efforts across Azure and AWS, with hands-on IaC, security controls, and RMF compliance.

Responsibilities include deploying greenfield environments, integrating on-prem with cloud, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring Zero Trust and NIST guidance alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, or equivalent).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Five+ years of experience architecting and implementing enterprise cloud solutions.
• Extensive experience with Azure infrastructure and platform services.
• Hybrid cloud environments integrating on-prem with Azure and AWS.
• Hands-on with Intune, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Server, Purview, and AVD.
• Experience managing enterprise endpoint security, device compliance, and DLP.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Azure Bicep, ARM Templates, CloudFormation).
• Automating cloud administration via PowerShell, Python, Bash, Azure CLI, or AWS CLI.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, Zero Trust, NIST guidance, RMF.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in dynamic, mission-focused engineering teams.
• Familiarity with cloud-connected endpoints and non-persistent devices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, engineer, and implement secure hybrid cloud solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Design and deploy greenfield cloud environments supporting DoD mission requirements.
• Develop secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures aligned with DoD guidance and Zero Trust.
• Design and implement IaC solutions utilizing Terraform, Azure Bicep, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
• Design and administer Intune, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Server, Defender for Cloud, Purview, and AVD.
• Engineer secure networking integrating on-premises with Azure and AWS environments.
• Implement cloud-native monitoring, logging, backup, DR, and security services.
• Automate deployments and operational processes using PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, AWS CLI.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, networking, and app dev teams.
• Support system accreditation and ensure RMF/NIST compliance.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior engineers.
