Job summary

PMAT is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead secure, scalable cloud and hybrid edge-to-cloud solutions for DoD programs in San Diego. You will partner with software, platform, and cybersecurity teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities across GovCloud, Azure Government, and on-prem environments.

The role requires 5+ years in cloud design, strong DevSecOps practices, and experience with cross-domain security architectures. On-site with hybrid flexibility, and DoD compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cloud architecture or platform engineering experience.
• Experience deploying solutions in AWS, Azure, or similar clouds.
• Strong knowledge of containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices.
• Proficient in hybrid cloud/edge computing architectures.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) and DevSecOps.
• Ability to work with engineers, operators, and government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud architectures for warfighter-focused data and operations.
• Develop hybrid edge-to-cloud architectures integrating edge nodes and cloud environments.
• Architect solutions across TS/SCI, SECRET, UNCLASS environments with cross-domain considerations.
• Implement and optimize DevSecOps pipelines (CI/CD, IaC, security scanning).
• Ensure compliance with DoD cloud standards (ILs 4, 5 & 6+, RMF).
• Support cloud deployments across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, on-prem, and tactical environments.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers and stakeholders.
