Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Network Administration & Operations Engineer to design, implement, and sustain the Rock Island Arsenal OTA prototype network.

You will lead integration of DoD, commercial, and vendor technologies to deliver a secure, scalable communications backbone and C2 applications. The role requires a high school diploma with 2–4 years of DoD network experience, travel up to 50%, and certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Network+.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, configuring, and administering DoD network infrastructures for mission-critical systems.
• Experience installing routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and supporting communications hardware.
• Experience supporting network engineering across system development life cycle including architecture, implementation, testing, and operational support.
• Experience integrating multiple hardware, software, and networked systems into secure enterprise or tactical networks.
• Experience troubleshooting connectivity, routing, switching, firewall, VLAN, VPN, and network issues in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain the Rock Island Arsenal prototype network infrastructure.
• Lead integration of commercial, Government, and vendor technologies into secure, interoperable network architecture.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance across lab, staging, and operational environments.
• Collaborate with systems, security, software, and test teams for system integration and demonstrations.
• Implement secure network configurations aligning with DoD cybersecurity requirements (STIGs, RMF).
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, implementation plans, and deployment documentation.
• Support demonstrations, assessments, and field installations with hands-on network engineering.
