Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Network Administration & Operations Engineer to design, implement, and sustain a DoD network prototype supporting OTA deployments. You will lead the integration of commercial, government, and third-party technologies into a layered security system.

You will plan, configure, monitor, and optimize the network for sensors, C2 apps, and cybersecurity appliances, ensuring reliability, security, and operational readiness across lab, staging, and field environments.

Qualifications

• Typically a high school diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, configuring, and administering DoD or enterprise network infrastructures.
• Experience planning, installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining network equipment.
• Experience supporting network engineering activities across the system life cycle.
• Experience integrating multiple hardware, software, and networked systems into secure environments.
• Experience troubleshooting connectivity, routing, switching, firewall, VLAN, VPN issues in complex environments.
• Experience evaluating network performance and improving reliability and security.
• Experience collaborating with systems engineering, cybersecurity, software engineering, and integration teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain the network infrastructure for the prototype.
• Lead the integration of vendor technologies into a secure, interoperable network architecture.
• Monitor and optimize network performance, availability, and reliability across environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support demonstrations, assessments, and field deployments.
• Implement secure network configurations compliant with DoD cybersecurity requirements (STIGs, RMF).
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, implementation plans, and documentation.
• Provide hands-on support for demonstrations and deployments to ensure end-to-end connectivity.
