Job summary

Specialty Systems, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team supporting a Department of Defense customer at Joint Base MDL.

The role focuses on mechanical hardware, manufacturing processes, and sustaining complex systems in a high‑profile setting. You will work with engineers, technicians, manufacturing and quality personnel to solve real-world technical problems, review engineering drawings, and document findings.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline preferred.
• Secret level clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance required.
• 1–2 years of substantive engineering experience in manufacturing, production, sustainment, lab or similar hands-on environment.
• 2–5+ years of directly relevant engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical and engineering investigations involving mechanical hardware and processes.
• Apply creative problem-solving techniques to engineer solutions and recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, manufacturing and quality personnel.
• Review drawings, specifications, procedures, and reports for accuracy.
• Develop and revise technical documentation, evaluations, and investigations.
• Research information to support engineering decisions and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Track issues and actions through resolution with proper documentation.
• Participate in meetings and clearly communicate findings.
• Support modification of engineering drawings when required.
