Job summary

Specialty Systems, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a Department of Defense customer at Joint Base MDL. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering, investigations, documentation, and cross-functional coordination to keep systems performing at peak levels.

The engineer will work on-site under a compressed schedule, collaborating with hardware, manufacturing, and quality teams to investigate issues, document findings, and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Secret clearance or ability to obtain at least Secret.
• 1–2 years of substantive engineering experience in a hands-on environment.
• 2–5+ years of directly relevant engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering investigations involving mechanical hardware and manufacturing processes.
• Apply creative problem solving to non-routine technical problems and provide practical resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, manufacturing, and quality personnel to resolve issues.
• Review drawings, specifications, procedures, and reports for technical accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and revise engineering reports, evaluations, and investigation findings.
• Research technical information to support engineering decisions and recommendations.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary engineering issue resolution across teams.
• Track issues and actions through to resolution with proper documentation.
• Participate in technical meetings and communicate findings clearly.
• Support modification of drawings as required.
