Job summary

Collins Aerospace in the United States is seeking a Systems Engineer for the JPALS group within Precision Navigation. You will contribute to design, tests, validation, and integration of landing systems, working hands-on in a lab with diverse sub-systems such as datalinks and GPS sensors.

The role requires a strong foundation in systems engineering, GPS testing, and RF/communication concepts, with a lab-oriented mindset and collaboration across teams to meet demanding timelines.

Qualifications

• Systems engineering discipline experience.
• GPS functionality testing experience.
• Knowledge of radio transceiver architecture and test methodologies.
• Experience troubleshooting lab failures and investigating defects.
• Typically requires STEM degree and 2+ years of experience or an advanced degree.

Responsibilities

• Design brand-new Precision Approach and Landing equipment.
• Perform hands-on testing in a lab environment.
• Create, analyze, and review mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Debug Real Time Operating System software.
• Support system integration, verification, validation, and trade studies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver on schedule.
