Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for the Joint Precision Approach and Landing Systems group in Cedar Rapids. You will contribute to datalink/communications, position and time sensors, navigation algorithms, modeling, and antennas, across the engineering lifecycle.

The role involves lab work, hands-on testing, design review, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Qualifications

Degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics required or equivalent experience.
Experience applying systems engineering to navigation and comms in aerospace.
Experience with DoD or government-grade requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design new Precision Approach and Landing equipment.
Conduct hands-on lab testing and data collection.
Review mechanical drawings and schematics for accuracy.
Debug Real Time Operating System software.
Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
Coordinate configuration management and interface definitions.
