Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the Joint Precision Approach and Landing Systems (JPALS) group in Cedar Rapids. You will design PA/landing equipment, perform lab tests, and review hardware/software to meet system requirements.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, debug RTOS software, and contribute to verification, validation, and risk analyses for total systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; advanced degree with 3+ years acceptable.
• Experience with system-level requirements, verification, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Design brand-new Precision Approach and Landing equipment.
• Perform hands-on testing in a lab environment.
• Create, analyze, and review mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Debug real-time operating system software.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Conduct trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver on schedule.
