Job summary

Abile Group, Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer to support a DoD Customer's Classified Network Services.

The role covers manuals, SOPs, user guides, training materials, and engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and clarity for technical and non-technical audiences. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and program leadership to gather material, ensuring compliance with DoD and NIST standards, maintaining templates and version control, and supporting proposals and technical

Qualifications

• Produce high-quality documentation with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering, cybersecurity, software development, or IT operations.
• Proficient with documentation tools such as MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Confluence, SharePoint, Visio, or similar platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deliverables.
• Experience with Agile development environments and tools (Jira, GitLab, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Creates, edits, and maintains a wide range of technical documents (manuals, SOPs, user guides, engineering docs, training materials).
• Translates highly technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborates with engineers, SMEs, developers, analysts, and leadership to gather material and ensure accuracy.
• Ensures documentation complies with customer standards, contract requirements, and federal guidelines (DoD, DHS, IC, NIST).
• Develops and maintains templates, style guides, and version-control processes.
• Reviews and edits documents for grammar, clarity, organization, and compliance with standards.
• Supports proposal writing, technical volumes, and other BD documentation as needed.
• Manages documentation repositories and configuration control using Confluence, SharePoint, Git, Jira.
• Provides mentorship to junior writers and contributes to process improvements.
• Participates in technical meetings and design reviews to capture requirements.
