Job summary

Kalman and Company, a defense-focused analytics firm in the United States, seeks a highly motivated analyst with DoD cost estimating experience to support DoW programs. You will analyze data, build models, and contribute to budget forecasting for major defense initiatives.

The role requires a Secret clearance or ability to obtain one, a math- and economics-focused background, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a government-issued, Secret level clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in any field and successful completion of calculus and seminars in operations research, economics, math, chemistry or physics with advanced math skills.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lead detail-oriented tasks and multitask under minimal supervision.
• Experience conducting advanced mathematical and/or statistical methods and creating/maintaining databases.
• Excellent analysis skills and experience working with large data sets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of cost, affordability, and schedule analysis to support DoW acquisitions.
• Lead, develop, update, and apply mathematical and logical methodologies for program analyses.
• Support data analytics and advanced analytics efforts.
• Identify, validate, cleanse, and normalize data to create predictive models and trend analyses.
• Conduct and manage program office estimates and reference them to build and defend budget requirements.
• Evaluate program investment and acquisition strategies and courses of action.
• Conduct comparative decision analyses and economic analyses including BCAs, AoAs, EAs, and market research.
• Lead briefing materials and present analysis results to management at executive levels.
• Work autonomously and as part of a team to meet goals.
• Understand DoW and/or DHS Acquisition processes.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to collect and communicate information for priority programs.
• Provide thought leadership with innovative ideas to address customer challenges.
