Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Cyber Operations Analyst to support real-time cyber defense operations at Fort Meade, MD. You will monitor, triage, and respond to cybersecurity events across DoD networks, coordinating with DoD and mission partners to defend critical infrastructure.

Requirements include a BA/BS in a relevant field and 4+ years in cyber operations, with SIEM experience (ArcSight, Splunk, JIMS, CSAAC, PCAP).

Qualifications

• 4+ years of cybersecurity, cyber operations, network defense, SOC, or CND experience.
• Experience using security monitoring and SIEM tools such as ArcSight, Splunk, JIMS, CSAAC, PCAP, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, DNS, firewalls, IDS/IPS technologies, and network traffic analysis.
• Familiarity with threat analysis, vulnerability management, cyber incident response, and defensive cyber operations.
• Experience preparing operational reports, status updates, and briefings for leadership.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity events in real-time.
• Perform incident handling, event triage, threat detection, and network analysis activities.
• Identify cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack patterns impacting DoD networks.
• Support cyber situational awareness, vulnerability reporting, and operational threat assessments.
• Coordinate Computer Network Defense (CND) activities with DoD organizations and mission partners.
• Monitor compliance with cybersecurity directives, vulnerability management requirements, and IAVA guidance.
• Develop reports, operational updates, metrics, and executive briefings for leadership.
• Support INFOCON recommendations and cyber defense courses of action.
• Analyze network traffic, intrusion detection events, and security logs using enterprise security monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with cyber operations teams, intelligence partners, and government stakeholders to protect critical network infrastructure.
