Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cyber Operations Analyst to support real-time defense of DoD networks at Fort Meade, MD. You will monitor events, analyze threats, and coordinate incident response as part of a 24/7 on-site team.

The successful candidate has 4+ years in cyber operations or SOC environments, experience with SIEM tools, and the ability to produce operational reports and leadership briefs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline as listed.
• 4+ years of cybersecurity, cyber operations, network defense, SOC, or CND experience.
• Experience with security monitoring and SIEM tools such as ArcSight, Splunk, JIMS, CSAAC, PCAP.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and threat analysis.
• Experience preparing operational reports and leadership briefings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity events in real time.
• Perform incident handling, event triage, threat detection, and network analysis.
• Identify threats, vulnerabilities, and attack patterns affecting DoD networks.
• Support cyber situational awareness, vulnerability reporting, and assessments.
• Coordinate CND activities with DoD organizations and partners.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity directives, vulnerabilities, and IAVA guidance.
• Develop reports, updates, metrics, and executive briefings for leadership.
• Support INFOCON recommendations and cyber defense courses of action.
• Analyze network traffic, IDS/IPS events, and security logs using monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with cyber teams, intelligence partners, and government stakeholders.
