Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Cyber Operations Analyst to support real-time cyber defense operations at Fort Meade, MD. The role focuses on threat detection, incident response, and network analysis across DoD networks.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in cyber operations within CNDSP/SOC environments and holds Security+ CE or equivalent. TS/SCI clearance with CI poly is required. On-site, 24/7 shift coverage with multiple teams is available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of cybersecurity, cyber operations, network defense, SOC, or CND experience.
• Experience using security monitoring and SIEM tools such as ArcSight, Splunk, JIMS, CSAAC, PCAP, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, DNS, firewalls, IDS/IPS technologies, and network traffic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity events in real-time.
• Perform incident handling, event triage, threat detection, and network analysis activities.
• Identify cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack patterns impacting DoD networks.
• Support cyber situational awareness, vulnerability reporting, and operational threat assessments.
• Coordinate Computer Network Defense (CND) activities with DoD organizations and mission partners.
• Monitor compliance with cybersecurity directives, vulnerability management requirements, and IAVA guidance.
• Develop reports, operational updates, metrics, and executive briefings for leadership.
• Support INFOCON recommendations and cyber defense courses of action.
• Analyze network traffic, intrusion detection events, and security logs using enterprise security monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with cyber operations teams, intelligence partners, and government stakeholders to protect critical network infrastructure.
