Job summary

SMX is seeking an Azure/AWS Cloud Engineer to support a government client in Huntsville, AL. The role emphasizes operational excellence, security, and measurable results within a hybrid cloud environment.

Required: DoD clearance, Azure/AWS experience, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and DevSecOps with RMF/SCCA guidance. Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of experience or equivalent.
• Hands-on Azure and AWS experience.
• DoD 8570/8140 aligned certification such as Security+.
• Knowledge of RMF and SCCA guidance.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/CloudFormation.
• DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Kubernetes (EKS), ECS and Docker fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Support a cloud-based government hybrid cloud in Huntsville, AL.
• Engineer cloud capabilities to meet business drivers and requirements.
• Act as Cloud SME for technical decisions during engagements.
• Develop and publish design artifacts and operational documents.
• Automate deployment and processes using IaC and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
