Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Joint Fires Network Engineer for a Federal program at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. The role focuses on network operations, routing, switching, and circuit analysis to ensure mission readiness.

The engineer will work 24x7 shifts, coordinate with government agencies and internal teams, and support change management, incident documentation, and network optimization using Cisco/Juniper gear.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Able to work in a 24x7 shift environment.
• Experience with Cisco/Juniper MSPP MPLS and optical transport networks.

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of circuits across multiplexers, routers, and switches.
• Perform real-time circuit redesign to restore connectivity during outages and maintenance actions.
• Coordinate with internal/external customers and government agencies to ensure maximum network availability.
• Monitor network alarms using platform management tools.
• Perform change management tasks including hardware replacement and software configurations.
• Document outages/degradations/escalations in incident management systems.
• Assess and resolve network incidents leveraging knowledge of routers, switches, and transport architectures.
