Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Communications Network Engineer Senior to design, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise networks across LAN, WAN, and LAN. The role supports DoD-grade operations with Cisco equipment and large-scale infrastructures.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of enterprise networking experience, CCNA, IAT II, and an Active Secret Clearance. On-site work is in Norfolk, VA or Washington, DC with full benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience administering & supporting enterprise network environments.
Hands-on experience supporting LAN/WAN & large-scale integrated network infrastructures.
Strong experience configuring & troubleshooting Cisco networking equipment including routers & switches.
Experience performing network performance analysis, diagnostics, & problem resolution.
Experience supporting network migrations, conversions, cutovers, & infrastructure upgrades.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching technologies, VLANs, & network architecture principles.
CCNA certification or equivalent OEM network support certification.
IATII certification

Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, and LAN networks supporting mission-critical operations.
Configure, monitor, and optimize Cisco routers, switches, and related network devices.
Analyze network performance, identify connectivity issues, and implement corrective actions.
Support network integration efforts involving large-scale computer and communications systems.
Plan, coordinate, and execute network upgrades, migrations, cutovers, and technology refresh initiatives.
Coordinate with end users, system admins, engineering teams, and remote sites to support network changes.
Perform network testing, validation, and troubleshooting during deployment and sustainment activities.
Monitor network health and performance using enterprise management tools.
Implement network configurations per DoD security requirements and standards.
Support incident response and outage resolution across dispersed environments.
Maintain detailed network diagrams and change management records.
Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams for secure operations.
