Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking an Application Engineer to design, develop, and maintain DoD data systems integrating core platforms with DoD and external interfaces. You will work in an Agile environment across data exchange, cloud migration, API development, and UI enhancements for a 6,500+ user base.

The role emphasizes secure coding per DoD ASD STIG, Oracle 4GL/Java stack, and enterprise integration patterns, including CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices in GovCloud

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Oracle databases, SQL, and web application development.
• Knowledge of Oracle Forms, Reports, and other 4GL technologies.
• Experience implementing enterprise application integration patterns and API-based services.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and OWASP standards.
• Experience with enterprise integration technologies and web services REST/SOAP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance application components and 4GL code (Oracle Forms/Reports, JavaScript).
• Develop, test, and maintain functionality during Agile sprints and bug fixes.
• Conduct code reviews at milestones to ensure quality and maintainability.
• Design and automate data exchange between core app and interfacing systems.
• Support data exchanges via SFTP and API integrations.
• Move towards micro front end and microservices architectures.
• Develop cloud-native components and microservices for modernization.
• Support cloud deployments in DoD-authorized environments.
• Contribute to enterprise system architecture roadmaps through 2030+.
